Last month Margaret Whitlam was forced to make one of the hardest decisions of her life – to put her husband, former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam into an aged care facility. With over 2 million Australians aged 70 and over, and that number set to double in the next 20 years,* this is a decision an increasing number of Australians are going to face in the coming years.

In this video, Beverly describes how she made the decision to put her husband in an aged care facility. Although difficult, she later reveals it was “the best decision I made”.
